This event is designed to connect students with professionals from every sector—secretarial, managerial, skilled trades, labourers, business professionals, executives, owners, and more. We warmly invite members of our local community to participate and share their experiences, helping students envision their future possibilities.

Help Wanted! Bingo Volunteers Needed
We are in need of a few more volunteers to run bingos. Please contact Paul Goldring (goldringp@limestone.on.ca) if you are interested in helping out or learning more.
We are thankful to Play! Gaming & Entertainment for their generosity and support over the years! Funds raised help us to significantly reduce fees in support of student extra-curriculars at LCVI.
Scents at School Reminder
LCVI/Calvin Park is a scent free school. We have students and staff who experience severe physical reactions when exposed to colognes, perfumes, body sprays, etc. Please do not wear scents at LCVI/Calvin Park! Do not apply them before you come to school, and do not apply them while at school. Thank you for your help with this.
Inclement Weather
Our first "snow day" of the year came early this year, a reminder that winter weather is here. Please note that you can sign-up to receive notifications of cancellations to your student's specific bus route at https://triboard.ca/. If your students is going to stay home on an inclement weather day, please remember to report their absence through School Messenger to help us track attendance and ensure student safety.
Attendance
Regular attendance is essential for success. We expect students to attend class daily and be on time. When valuable instructional time is missed, the natural consequence is a decreased opportunity for success. We know that students who are present at school 90% of the time or more earn higher grades and are more likely to earn all of their credits.
Families can prioritize attendance by:
- Discussing its importance and positivity
- Scheduling appointments outside of school hours (if possible)
- Returning students to school after appointments
- Keeping students home only when ill
- Planning family vacations during school breaks (i.e., December and March Breaks)
Our automated attendance system makes daily calls home to notify caregivers of students who are marked absent without permission.
Students who need to leave early for an appointment must sign-out at the Attendance Office. Students who arrive late to school must sign-in at the Attendance Office before going to class. To notify the school of a “parent/guardian approved” absence, parents/guardians should report the absence through School Messenger or call the attendance office @ 613-546-2050, ext. 341. Please note: Students are not permitted to sign themselves out or call-in absences until they reach the age of 18.
New 5, 10, 15 absence procedure:
- Email home from teacher at 5, 10, and 15 absences in a class. After midterm, teachers will move to 10 and 15 absences only.
- Administration will follow-up with student/caregiver. Follow-up may include supports and/or progressive discipline procedures.
New Lancer Level-Up Days:
- Students are expected to communicate with their teacher if they anticipate being absent on a summative assessment day. (It may be possible to complete the summative early.)
- Students who are absent for a summative assessment/test will have the opportunity to complete the missed summative on the next "Lancer Level Up Day.
Graduation Photos
Attention Graduates! It's time to begin booking your Graduation Photos. Go to https://edgeimaging.ca/en/book-your-grad-session/and enter the school code LKX.
There are two options:
Option 1 costs $35 and includes a composite photo with all of our graduates. This option includes 10 poses, including props, set against both contemporary and traditional backgrounds. Please note that this sitting fee does not cover the cost of a printed photo. If you do not know what a composite photo is, there is one in the main office beside the staff mailboxes.
Option 2 costs $0 but does not include the composite. Your photo will be included in the composite photo, and you will still have an option to order additional grad photos. This option consists of 1 pose.
You should consider booking a graduation photo, even if you do not plan to order any. This will ensure you are included in the composite photo, the yearbook, and that we have a graduation photo to display on the day of the ceremony.
Graduation photos are available January 8, 9, 12 2026 - book now! Any cancellations or re-bookings are done through the photo company, Edge Imaging.
Daily Announcements
Students hear information about extra-curriculars and events on the daily announcements, also posted on the bulletin board outside the main office, on the school website (https://lcvi.limestone.on.ca/daily-schedule-announcements), and on LCVI Instagram.
