St. Lawrence College will be visiting LCVI on September 22nd during Period 2. Please sign up in Student Services if you are interested in learning about all that St. Lawrence College has to offer. The presentation is open to students in Grades 11 and 12. Students hoping to attend must sign up by 2:34 PM on September 20th.

Attention Grade 9 students! Get ready for an exciting day at Grade 9 Getaway at Circle Square Ranch! Join your classmates for team challenges, outdoor activities, horse guiding, and plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and make great memories. There is an important update for all students attending the trip. Due to a change in plans, every participant must sign and return a paper permission form. Forms are available in the main office and must be completed as soon as possible. The deadline for signup is September 21st.

Attention Peer Tutors! All Peer Tutors must come to a short meeting in the library at the beginning of lunch on Monday OR Tuesday. Attendance is MANDATORY.

LC's Special Olympics Soccer team is looking for Unified players to support and play alongside the Special Olympic athletes in games at their Qualifier Tournament here at LCVI on September 29th during the school day. If you are interested in being a unified player, please check in with Ms. Amsden in Room 135.

College and University visits have begun. Please stop by the front foyer to visit representatives at lunch. September visits include Queen's University Sept 16th, TMU September 21st and Nipissing on September 22nd.All grades are welcome so start making your post-secondary plans now!

Missed out on basketball tryouts? Or want try something new? Come out after school! Both Jr and Sr teams this year! All experience levels welcome.

Interested in robotics, coding, electronics, or building amazing things? Join the Comet Tech Lancers, LCVI's FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Team! We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the Bot Cave (under the Tech Wing). No experience is required. Everyone is welcome.

Congrats to the field hockey team on their well fought draw with Regi yesterday. It was an awesome team effort to start the season, but special shout-out goes to Dara Legge on a shutout to start the season, and to player of the game Freja Hagberg for her all-around spectacular play.

The first Ecclesia meeting of the year is TODAY at lunch in the Drama Room. Ecclesia is LCVI's student council and there are no elections required to join. We have drop in meetings every Tuesday at lunch in the Drama Room where we discuss and plan school events and other volunteer opportunities. See you there!

The BIPOC Affinity Team will be meeting today, at lunch in room 124. This club is an opportunity for students that are part of the BIPOC community to connect, build community, and celebrate identity and culture! Hope to see you there. 

Hey Lancers, looking for a fun way to get involved in the Kingston community and gain volunteer experience while making a difference? Join us at lunch tomorrow, September 17 in the Drama Room for a special guest speaker from an organization called Start2Finish. They will share info on supporting youth in our community. Volunteer hours would be after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This is a great chance to build leadership experience and meet new people. 

Attention Volleyball and Basketball Players! Uniform pick-up is happening today in the Uniform Room, located in the Main Gym.
Volleyball players - Junior Boys pickup is at 11:00 a.m., and Senior Boys is at 11:30 a.m.
Basketball players- Junior Girls and Senior Girls pickup is at 2:45 p.m.
Team fees must be paid through School-Day. If you are unable to pay through School-Day at this time, please speak with your coach as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great season!

Who put on a clinic in net last night you ask? It was Dara Legge! She stole the show in a competitive field hockey match with the Goliath Holy Cross. L.C.V.I. fought hard and showed tremendous fight, but in the end, it was Dara’s show stopping saves that gave our opponent more than they could handle. Great match, team, and good luck next Friday! 

D and D club is back! If you are interested in joining, please come to an important meeting today at lunch in Room 119. See you there!

Shoutout to the Senior Boy’s Volleyball Team! The Lancers had a great game last night against Mille-Îles, demonstrating excellent volleyball skills, determination, and tenacity throughout the match. The team showed great energy and continued to battle for every point! Player of the Game: Mutaqa. Mutaqa earned Player of the Game honours for his incredible hustle, strong gameplay, and leadership on the court. He consistently brought energy to the team and led by example from start to finish.

Last night, the Junior Boys Volleyball team started their season with a big win over Mille-Îles. The Lancers showed great teamwork with excellent plays, strong sets, and formidable serves throughout the game. MVP goes to Cal for his overall gameplay, consistent setting, and positive attitude from start to finish. Great job, Lancers, and congratulations on a fantastic start to the season!

The Ontario Universities' Regional Fair is on October 13, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, Marina in the Sail room. This event is a great way to talk to representatives from different universities. It is never too early to start planning Lancers! 

The HOSA meeting has been moved to Monday, September 21 at 11:05 in Room 217 (the chemistry lab in the Calvin Park hallway). The purpose of this meeting is to provide an overview of HOSA for potential new members and to go over the online registration process with HOSA Canada.
