·         Good morning! The School to Community classes would love to hear about YOUR Acts of Kindness.  Come see us at lunchtime to tell us what act of kindness you have done today. “Did you take your dog for a walk this morning before school?” LET KINDNESS FLOW! Thanks for your support LC – YOU ARE AWESOME!!

 

·         Guest forms for LCVI's Semi formal are now available in the main office and are due Tues, Feb 24th at noon. The guest forms need to be completed and submitted BEFORE guest tickets can be purchased. Tickets go on sale Tuesday Feb 17th!

 

·         Relay for Life is coming to LCVI this spring! Want to help plan an unforgettable event, lead fun activities, and make a real impact? Join the Relay for Life committee! Apply using the online form linked on posters around the school - applications are due on the 10th. Help us raise money, spread awareness, and make this year's Relay for Life our best one yet. See Ms. MacRae if you have any questions or want more information.

·         Hello Lancers!  The School to Community classes would love to hear all about YOUR Acts of Kindness.  Come visit us at lunch time today to complete your kindness ballot and to check out our activities and prizes.  Thank you for your support Lancers – YOU ARE SO KIND!

·         There will be candy grams sold in the front foyer at lunch for 3 dollars, send one to a friend to show your appreciation!

·         The Gender & Sexuality Alliance, GSA, will meet today at lunch in room 107. All 2SLGBTQIA+ students, friends and allies, are welcome to join. 

·         Yesterday at EOSSAA, Isla Sanders had an incredible day on the slopes. She took bronze overall in Alpine Skiing and earned silver in Giant Slalom. Amazing speed and an outstanding performance. Congratulations, Isla!

·         Congratulations to all DECA members who competed in Toronto last weekend.  23 LCVI students qualified for Provincials and competed against thousands of students from across the province. Seven students were awarded medals:  Jill and Elise, Taco and Kian, Sid, Jesse and Cade.  

·         A big thank you to Jeni and Marie for dealing with School Day and budget, and to Mrs Connelly for the calm and consistent support.  We can be proud of LCVI's accomplishments in DECA for the 2025-2026 school year.

·         Wellness Club meets today at lunch in the drama room. All are welcome!

 

·         There will be candy grams sold in the front foyer at lunch for $3.00, send one to a friend to show your appreciation!

 

·         A huge shout out to the LCVI Swim team, who competed at EOSSAA yesterday! The small, but mighty team of 15 swimmers put in some great swims after training for three months. Of the 39 individual events, 27 were personal best times!!! We had 15 swimmers finish in the top 5 for their event and 3 of the 4 relay teams swam a personal best time!! We had 3 swimmers qualify for OFSSA in March. Congratulations to Sophia Bradizza, who qualified in the 50 metre backstroke, the 100 metre individual medley and the 50 metre butterfly, Silvia Montoro, who qualified in 50 metre freestyle, and Alicia Su, who qualified in 100 metre individual medley and the 50 metre breaststroke. A personal thank you to Mdme Craft for helping out on deck as a coach.

·         Calling all theatre kids or anyone interested in being involved with Dramafest this year! Grade 12 student, Clara Christopher, is directing a play and needs actors, stage crew, set designers, and lighting help! Last year with the help of many excellent cast and crew members, LCVI won districts, making it to regionals in Port Hope and winning 9 awards in total across the competition. If this interests you, there will be a meeting Friday, February 13th, to provide more information and answer any questions you may have.
