Calling all art room friends from semester 1. If you took an art course in 131 last semester and did not take your art with you this is for you. Please come by the art room and collect any of your pieces by the end of the week. If Ms. McKibbin is not in the room you can find a pile of last semester's work on the table by the sinks, or on the walls, and can take your work. Any pieces that are left behind after Friday will be finding a different home.
Hey Art Club, It has been a beat. Let's gather for a quick planning meeting on Monday at lunch to brainstorm a few projects we have for the spring. New friends are welcome to attend."
The LCVI wrestling team competed in OFSAA this week and had some great results. Congrats to Nathan, James, Willow on making their OFSAA debuts. Shoutout to Phoenix for recording his first OFSAA win. Big Shoutout to Ibrahim and Mohammad on their multiple wins at the provincial championship, including Mohammad's two victories via a pin and Ibrahim's revenge victory over his Holy Cross rival.
But the wrestler of the tournament for LCVI was Finn Brophy, who captured his second consecutive OFSAA gold medal. Finn only gave up 2 points in the whole tournament. His final match had him defeat a two time OFSAA champ. Finn dominated the match against the former National Champion, and celebrated with his trademark backflip. Awesome accomplishment Finn, your coaches and teammates are so proud of you. The LCVI men’s team finished in 14th place overall, out of over 140 teams. Great job Lancers!
Congratulations to Alicia Su and Sophia Bradizza for representing LCVI at OFSAA Swimming in Windsor!! Sophia qualified for finals in the 50-meter butterfly, ranking 18th in all of Ontario for Junior female swimmers!! You both showed the Lancer spirit this season!

Sunday March 8th is International Women's Day. In 2026, no nation in the world has closed the legal gaps between men and women. Right now, women have only 64 per cent of the legal rights that men hold worldwide. In fundamental areas of life, including work, money, safety, family, property, mobility, business, and retirement – the law systematically disadvantages women.
International Women’s Day 2026 (IWD 2026), under the theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”, calls for action to dismantle all barriers to equal justice: discriminatory laws, weak legal protections, and harmful practices and social norms that erode the rights of women and girls. Choose to be a part of the change.
“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think
Once we start to act, hope is everywhere. So instead of looking for hope, look for action. Then, and only then, hope will come." ~Greta Thunburg
