LCVI Lancer Communication

May 24, 2026

May has been a busy and exciting month with field trips, various activities, and a number of extra-curricular events. Students showcased their talents at the Coffee House evening, with all funds raised going towards Relay for Life. Our students raised over $40, 000 for cancer research - AMAZING! This past Thursday we enjoyed our annual Carnival Day, an afternoon filled with laughter, fun, movement, and community building. As we look ahead to June, we can't wait to celebrate the many accomplishments of our students. Events such as the LCVI Recognition Celebration, the School to Community year-end celebration, and Graduation will provide opportunities for us to reflect on the school year and honour our students' contributions and achievements. Exams will be here in just a few weeks. We encourage our students to finish the semester strong with consistent attendance and excellent learning skills. As we head into the final weeks, thank you for your continued support at home and in our school community.

Relay for Life

Relay for Life

This past week, L.C.V.I. hosted our Relay for Life fundraising event, where students came together to make a meaningful difference by raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society and showing those living with and beyond cancer that they are not alone.

A dedicated group of student leaders met weekly throughout the semester to plan activities, connect with community partners, and encourage their peers to participate. Their hard work and leadership helped make this year’s event our most successful yet.

Together, our school raised more than $41 000 – a new fundraising record for L.C.V.I. Thank you to every student, staff member, family, and community member who supported students’ fundraising efforts. We had a great day celebrating their accomplishments.

Traffic Reminders for Drop-Off/Pick-Up

The front of our school is very busy in the morning and at dismissal. Please take care when entering and exiting the front laneway. A reminder that the front lane way is for quick drop-off and pick-up. Cars are not permitted to be parked or idling in this area. At the end of the school day, if your student is not ready to be picked-up, you must move along to maintain traffic flow.

Consider picking up your student 5-10 minutes after dismissal to help reduce congestion. Or consider dropping off/picking up your student at pre-arranged meeting spot in the surrounding neighbourhood. Thank you for your help keeping everyone safe.

Help Wanted! Bingo Volunteers Needed

We are still in need of a few more volunteers to run bingos. Please contact Paul Goldring (goldringp@limestone.on.ca) if you are interested in helping out or learning more. Funds raised help us to significantly reduce extra-curricular fees for all students at LCVI. The time commitment is not huge but the impact is significant for our school.
