About Us

Image of exterior of LCVI.Welcome to Loyalist Collegiate & Vocational Institute, where our motto is “Take care of yourself, take care of each other, and take care of this place.” We offer a composite secondary school program for students of all academic pathways. At LCVI, we are inclusive, celebrate diversity, and all of our students’ successes. We work together with our students, staff, families and community to ensure that our school is a respectful, safe and healthy place for all students to grow emotionally, socially and academically.

LCVI offers a wide array of robust programming, including enriched programming such as Academic Arts and Advanced Placement; seven Focus Programs in the arts, technology, and sports sciences; Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programs in culinary arts and cosmetology; ESL and International Education; and five Specialist High Skills Major Programs.

We encourage success for students at all levels by fostering the traits of grit, growth, and gratitude. We challenge our students to be involved in the life of the school, both inside and outside of the classroom, and our staff model this by being involved in all aspects of extra-curricular activities. We believe that our collegial approach to education creates an effective learning environment which, in turn, directly supports students' success.

At LCVI, we seek an active partnership with parents and guardians to support student learning. Our School Council meetings are open to the public and we encourage parents and guardians to be an active participant. At the secondary school level, the focus of School Council is dedicated to providing education information relevant to your teenagers’ life.

LCVI is not only home of the Lancers, but we are also home to Calvin Park Public School, a Grade 7 and 8 intermediate school that offers core programming as well as Choices at 7 Programs (ATLAS, LEAP and Challenge). Calvin Park shares our second floor, cafeteria, gyms and some classroom spaces with our students.
