There will be a Midget Girls Volleyball practice today at lunch. Please bring your tournament permission form.

Attention all Peer Tutors! We have a very important lunch time meeting this Wednesday in room 107. Our meeting will begin at 11:10. All peer tutors must attend.

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS – DECEMBER 5, 2018

Attention ALL Lancers! Do you like yummy holiday food? Do you dream of eating turkey and stuffing? If so, enter your name into the Holiday Food Basket Draw in the main office! The deadline is December 14th.  Baskets will be delivered the week before the holiday break. You will have a choice of ham or turkey. Nom nom nom!

Hey Lancers! Are you interested in joining a school newspaper? Our first meeting is on Thursday at lunch, in room 105.  If you want to get the scoop, we’ll see you there.

There will be a World Action meeting today in room 233. New members are welcome.

Auditions for the holiday concert will be held in the Drama room Wednesday, December 12th at lunch and from 2:45 to 4:00. Sign up on the list outside the Drama room. See Mrs. Healey or RJ with questions.

Big congrats to the Sr Girls volleyball team for starting their season with a big win over Frontenac. The team played strong, smart volleyball. Great start to the season girls.

There will be a bake sale in the front foyer at lunch today and Friday in support of the Tree of Hope.

 

Attention Lancers! Do you need some spirit wear to participate in Green and Gold day this Friday? If so, t-shirts are still on sale for $10, hoodies for $30 and temporary tattoes for 25 cents are now available! All of these items will be on sale this Friday at lunch but you can see Mr. DeRooy in room 112 if you need you spirit gear before the big day. Hope to see you all wearing green and gold this Friday to show that Lancers have spirit!

The Jr Lancers opened their basketball season with a 63-23 loss to Frontenac last night. LC was led by Aiden Christmas. Seth Dean and Conor Murphy. Our next game is at home Thursday vs KCVI.

There will be music theory help today in the library at 11:20.

This week, the choir will be meeting on Friday December 7th instead of Thursday December 6th.

There will be a DECA meeting in room 233 this Thursday. Please bring your permission forms.

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS – NOVEMBER 28, 2018

This is a reminder to all grade 11 and 12 students regarding full disclosure of grades on transcripts. If you are considering dropping a course, this must be done within five days of receiving your midterm report card. Courses dropped within the five days will not appear on your transcript.  Please see a member of the Student Services team for more information.

Huge congrats goes out to the Special Olympics bocce ball teams that competed at the regional tournament yesterday. We send out a big thank you to our volunteers Ashley, Conner, Robbie and Dallas.

Are you having trouble keeping up in Chemistry? Not sure how to start on your English essay? Need help studying for your Math Test? Fear not as LC teachers and HYPE tutors are here to help you out! In-school tutoring is available today at 2:45 pm in the Library. See you there!

To any junior girl interested in playing midget volleyball there will be a mandatory practice Thursday at lunch in the main gym.

The Dungeons & Dragons club will meet on Friday during the lunch hour in room 235. New and experienced players are welcome!

The wrestling team had a solid debut last week in Trenton.  Noah Patelli, back from special training in Columbia, led the Lancers team with a silver medal.  Rowan and Rashy posted solid performances on their way to 4th place finishes.  Rebecca, Megan, Bobby, Mahmud, Christian and Dallas also posted wins in our opening tournament.  Wrestlers planning to go to the tournament this weekend should weigh in today at the start of lunch.

Congratulations to the midget girls’ volleyball team for their valiant effort yesterday at the Candy Cane Classic! The team represented LCVI with enthusiasm, grit and determination.
